Education & Training
Trained at the most demanding programs in the country
Dr. Bokman graduated at the top of her class from Princeton University, and while there pursued abroad studies at Oxford University. She then went on to earn her medical degree from the University of Miami and was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha, the national honor society reserved for the top 10 percent of students. She completed her residency at UCLA, where she was selected as chief resident. At her USC fellowship in oculoplastic surgery, certified by the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, she achieved the highest scores possible on both the written and oral exams. Her fellowship mentors often described her technique as the best they had witnessed in all of their 30 years of training fellows. During her two-year fellowship, she also worked with facial plastic surgeons in Beverly Hills and the doctors on the hit show, Botched.
Research & Teaching
Expertise that runs deeper than the operating room
She has authored more than thirty peer-reviewed publications, including basic science research on how facial tissue heals after surgery. Throughout medical school and training, she taught board exam preparation to the students and residents. She is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and serves as a clinical consultant to Medical Protective on the standards of care in surgery.

The Artist’s Eye
Dr. Bokman also comes from a generation of artists, both painters and musicians. Because artistry runs in her family, Dr. Bokman believes that her innate artistic eye is what makes her patients so thrilled with their results. She is also a classically trained pianist and enjoys the technical challenges of playing the piano outside of the operating room.
